Things to do if you are a CSS Aspirant

 

Civil Services seems to be a dream career for every other young soul. But, lack of guidance or inappropriate technique has already dashed the dreams of many. Here, we have compiled a list of some basic hacks that all CSS aspirants must be aware of before landing in to proper preparatory phase.

1.    Plan Ahead

CSS is not a last minute venture and requires proper planning and scheduling. So, if you aim to take exam, spare yourself of all extracurricular at least 6-7 months before the exam date.

 

2.     English Newspaper

Believe me or not, English newspaper can not only do wonders in building up your English writing skills but 1 editorial a day can absolutely make you pro in analysis based questions. Further, combination of paper and current affairs magazine is a magic in itself.

Speaking specifically, Dawn newspaper and Jahangir World Times needs to find space in your study desk.

 

3.    Vocabulary Build-up

Try learning new words with spellings and their usage in different perspectives.

If you are still an undergraduate, this is the best time when you can grasp maximum, without being under pressure.

 

4.    Subject Selection

For the beginners, it seems to be a tough task so they either end up in choosing totally difficult, unrewarding combinations.

All you need is to visit the official website of paper conductors and make a list of their offered subjects followed by short listing on the basis of your prior knowledge about the subject. Remember! basic knowledge about a difficult subject is much better than a blank starting of an easy one.

Those who are totally unrelated to any subject should review the evaluation reports of past paper along with the length of syllabus.

 

5.    Making Notes

Don’t spam your notebooks with full fledge answers. Try to write key points alongside every topic. Remember it’s your last month content. So, beware of the length.

 

6.    TV at 10pm

10-12 pm is usually the analysis time of most of news channels. Make a habit of turning your TV on during these hours. Watch International channels for vocab and insight into global affairs.
